About the C Growth mentoring programme

The C Growth mentoring programme aims to help entrepreneurs and small businesses with their growth and development by matching those looking for a business mentor with suitable mentors.

Mark Skinner, Managing Director of John Bell Pipeline joined the company in 1992. His background experience in sales and business development has been vital to the expansion and development of the company within both domestic and overseas markets over the past 20 years.
In his personal time Mark also mentors start up and developing businesses with his vast knowledge of business management and development strategies.
‘I truly believe that people are the most valuable asset to a company. I am dedicated to developing our employees from new starts up to managers, to ensure we are utilising the talent in our organisation.
Murray Kerr is the founder and Managing Director of SengS Subsea Engineering Solutions.
He left School at fifteen with no qualifications and began his career in the Royal Navy at seventeen. After a period of six years he left the forces and began working in the oil and gas industry.
With eight years’ experience in the sector, in 2012 he mortgaged his home in order to start SengS. Within four months, SengS achieved a net profit of £150,000 and within two years the net profit increased to over £2m. In the 4 years of running SengS, Murray has re-invested all profit to build a start-of-the-art test and assembly facility (approx. £4.2m) which will play a major role in the future growth of the business. Furthermore during this period has been shortlisted for numerous awards and has won almost all of them, with SengS sponsoring the 2016 Energy Ball.
Suhail Ahmad is an entrepreneurial leader, experienced director, and trusted board adviser on growth strategy, digital transformation, and financial technology.
After a decade-long career in the financial services including work in financial advisory (life & pensions), private equity, and investment banking; Suhail embraced his passion for technology in 2009 and co-founded a Fintech, Infinnet Corp. in Canada and its sister company Infinnet Technologies in Scotland.  The company was successfully sold in 2014 and now Suhail is an active venture investor and business adviser to start-ups, SMEs, and financial service providers around the world.
Graham Hayward (FEI) is an experienced Managing Director with over 25 years experience in construction and industrial maintenance both in the UK and overseas, onshore and offshore. Graham has led large multi site operations and is comfortable interacting at board level with blue chip customers, officials and regulators.
Graham has led large industrial maintenance & asset integrity contractors in Oil and Gas and energy, with up to 2,000 employees and in this role was focused on both technical improvement business/safety performance. Successes included the development of new technical services, the addition of new customers, the retention of key customers through renewals, as well as significant improvements in safety performance.
Previous experience includes senior commercial and contract leadership roles. Colleagues know Graham as a highly creative business professional who will come up with innovative approaches. He knows that the client’s needs are paramount, and instils a passion for customer focus into all the businesses he leads.
Originally a Quantity Surveyor in the UK construction industry, he has a strong focus on commercial management and delivery of the bottom line.
Justin Grace began his career as a Management Accountant working for a small SME in Shropshire, rising through the business to become FD at the age of 28.
In July 1999, following his company’s acquisition by a Norwegian business, Justin was asked to relocate to Northern Italy to help turn around a poorly performing production operation. On leaving 3 ½ years later the operation had won production facility of the year for financial and operational performance. On returning to the UK, Justin joined an operating division of a multi $ billion turnover US corporate, joining as FD. Two years later he was promoted to Managing Director for UK & Ireland.
Justin’s last corporate position was Managing Director Northern Europe following further promotion. This included substantial P&L and operational responsibility for an area covering the UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Poland, as well as being a member of the Executive Management team in Paris.
Justin currently runs his own SME consultancy, which also incorporates the Academy for Chief Executives Scotland.
Stewart Glover is an experienced business and function leader.  Stewart has led multiple business transformation programmes across the energy value chain with a European-wide or Global remit.  After a 30 year career in the oil industry, primarily with BP, his final corporate role was Director of Procurement Operations, Downstream.  Stewart’s corporate career was based on Financial and Commercial expertise whilst he was also a mentor and coach for numerous ‘future’ leaders, Directors and Board members.
Since leaving corporate life Stewart has applied his core skills and passion in support of individuals and teams in realising their potential.  These have included managing functional operations in global sporting events (held in the UK since 2012) and the mentoring of the next generation aspiring to their medium or long term goals.
