Boxing smart as firm is set to launch into Paris

A SPORTS clothing company founded in Aberdeen is to expand into Europe after celebrating its first birthday.  A1 Fight Gear which specialises in boxing gloves and apparel for the combat industry was founded by 23-year-old Sean Cowie from the Granite City. The company has seen growth and demand in its products which has led to Sean looking to expand the business.  Sean said after a great first year the natural progression was to launch into Europe starting in Paris.  He said: “With just a year under our belt, we’re quickly becoming a respected and established brand in the industry.  “We’ve received great support from the local Scottish community, which has allowed us to grow the business quickly.  “The next natural step is to expand into Europe, starting with Paris early next year.”  Sean said he also believes it’s important to give back to the community and has set up a social support scheme for A1 Fight Gear. The company provide boxing gloves to struggling clubs around the UK.  It also sponsors a number of Aberdeen fighters including kickboxing world title holder Dean Sutherland, boxing champion Boris Crighton and Commonwealth Youth Games Gold Medallist John Docherty.
